Handcrafted botanical ink for fine writing and drawing with dip pens and brushes. Black walnut hulls for this small batch of ink were collected from Aunt Marjory's yard in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. This ink is one piece of a collection from one fall,  inspired by the sound of the wind rustling leaves as it passes through the trees, the wisdom gained from listening, and the beauty, joy, & love in beige, brown, & black.

From the Black Walnut Collection
Watch how the dye for this ink was created and different ways it's used in the Black Walnut episode of Indigo in Green. We take a visit to Aunt Marjory in Germantown and say hello to her black walnut tree, make dye from the black walnut hulls, then create fabric for a Fibonacci quilt. Later join in on the ecoprint experiment fun and enjoy the last bits of the season with long shadows, listening for the wind blowing through the trees.
